Liposuction Q&A
If you’re searching for a smoother, more contoured appearance, liposuction could be the treatment for you.
One of the cosmetic industry’s most popular procedures, liposuction, has helped thousands of men and women achieve the physique of their dreams, but we understand that not everyone feels entirely comfortable with the procedure.
Likely, you have some questions about liposuction that you would like to address, and we totally understand why. So, today, let’s dive into some of the common questions we get about lipo.
Hoes does liposuction work?
Liposuction is a procedure that helps to remove stubborn pockets of fat.
There are different types of liposuction, but at Face Amore, we use Vaser Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction, which helps us with being extremely precise.
This style of liposuction works by breaking the connection between fatty tissue and muscle. In addition, because we use a style of ultrasound lipo, sound wave energy helps to rupture those stubborn fat cell walls. The fat is then liquified and suctioned out.
Does liposuction permanently remove fat?
While liposuction will remove any fat you’re currently struggling with, there’s no such thing as permanent fat loss. Fat can always sneak back in if you’re not paying attention to your diet and exercise regimen.
We recommend that clients only undergo liposuction if they are struggling with stubborn fat loss that isn’t responding to diet and exercise. Liposuction should never be used as the first resource for fat loss. When it is, fat storage almost immediately returns.
Will liposuction give me a flat stomach?
In theory, liposuction can give you a flat stomach, but it largely depends on what your current health status is like.
Most patients don’t realize that they have two types of fat: subcutaneous and visceral.
Subcutaneous fat is the fat that is right under your skin, which can be removed with liposuction.
Alternatively, visceral fat is the fat that surrounds your internal organs, and this can not be removed with liposuction. So, if you have a lot of visceral fat, there’s a chance your stomach won’t be able to be as flat as you might have envisioned.
Does liposuction leave scars?
Scaring after liposuction is possible, but with a professional team and doctors that know what they are doing, you’ll have a much better chance of avoiding any scars after your procedure.
If you have hyperpigmentation, your scar might be more prominent, but in general, when you’re booking with a professional team, you can feel confident that we’ll do everything in our power to ensure you have a scar-free surgery.
Am I a good candidate?
As mentioned, we generally don’t recommend liposuction for anyone who hasn’t attempted weight loss through traditional diet and exercise. In fact, we recommend that clients be within 30% of their ideal body weight before considering liposuction.
In addition, liposuction should only be considered if you are in a relatively healthy state. Because this is surgery, your body needs to be able to handle some stress. If are sick or have any chronic conditions, we don’t recommend liposuction.
If you are a smoker, we also don’t recommend liposuction.
And lastly, we always like to ensure that our clients are coming to us for the right reasons. If you have poor body image, have unrealistic goals, or are just looking for a quick fix, liposuction is not the right treatment.
Liposuction is ideal for someone with a healthy mindset who has a strong foundation for diet and exercise.
